Neil Robertson recommended System - Head Tag as the 2nd best option to add JavaScript to the document <head> after editing the template directly. I tend to agree, if you don't want to modify the source code - Head Tag is an excellent option.

Sadly, Head Tag was not designed to do what he was trying to do. I was happy to see that it was working for other aspects of his need.
